The Vistria Group Recognized by New Private Markets as Impact Firm of the Year in Education
The Vistria Group, LP (“The Vistria Group” or the “Firm”) proudly announces it was named by New Private Markets as the Impact Firm of the Year in Education as part of its first ever 2023 Global Awards. Voted on by peers in the industry, the award showcases private markets firms and investors who excel in areas of impact and environmental, social, and governance standards. The award highlights Vistria’s Knowledge and Learning Solutions investments in portfolio companies that support educational opportunities for millions of students across the U.S. and seeks to contribute to stronger learning outcomes and better education access for all.
“Education is the backbone of our society. We take pride in the fact that we work closely with our portfolio company management and their teams to drive real impact like increasing literacy and equipping working families with the knowledge and tools they need to be successful. To be recognized by our peers for our leadership in education investing is a testament to our approach to delivering both financial returns and societal impact that can transform someone’s life,” said Phil Alphonse, Senior Partner, and Co-Head of Knowledge & Learning Solutions.
The Vistria Group was recognized for its strong track record in education, totaling $1.7 billion in fund invested capital across thirteen investments in the knowledge and learning solutions space over the past decade. Additionally, the Firm was recognized for its investments in 2023, putting $559 million of fund invested capital to work in the space across three investments.
Since inception, The Vistria Group has held the belief that private capital needs to be an engine for our economy and a driver of lasting, positive change. The Firm has focused on making investments in three large, resilient sectors in the U.S.: Knowledge and Learning Solutions, Healthcare and Financial Services sectors. The Vistria Group’s mix of sector expertise, experience as operators, and differentiated policy perspective across its investment team, operating partners, and senior advisors has helped the Firm source and execute against this thesis and create value for its investors.
The Vistria Group’s Knowledge and Learning Solutions team, co-led by Senior Partners Phil Alphonse and Adnan Nisar, applies this investing, operating and policy lens to investments in education in the U.S. The team focuses on traditional core instruction, including early learning, K-12, and post-secondary. As the education sector continually evolves, the Firm also looks at a broader knowledge and learning definition that includes core instruction, workforce development, information services, learning media, and human capital management.
“At The Vistria Group, we’ve always believed in the transformative power of purposeful investing and fostering collaborative partnerships. This award recognizes our reputation amongst our peers of our continued ability to identify unique investment opportunities and drive value creation for our portfolio companies all while creating long term value and impact to the communities we serve,” said Adnan Nisar, Senior Partner, and Co-Head of Knowledge & Learning Solutions.
