The Vistria Group Knowledge & Learning Team Launch Strategic Partnership with Vanta Global

$250 million allocated from Fund IV to continue strong momentum in the Knowledge & Learning sector

Chicago, IL, October 13, 2022 — The Vistria Group today announced a strategic partnership with Vanta Global, a newly formed entity led by Gregory Cappelli and Chas Edelstein, to jointly invest in market leading companies in the knowledge industry around the world. The initial $250 million allocation from Vistria Fund IV, L.P. (“Fund IV”) will support Vanta Global’s ability to source and manage a new platform investment, with an initial focus on international as well as corporate training and workforce readiness opportunities.

“Since our founding in 2013, we have delivered attractive returns and consistent performance by partnering with management teams to improve outcomes for our portfolio companies, and the lives and livelihoods they support,” said Phil Alphonse, Senior Partner and Co-Head of Knowledge & Learning at The Vistria Group. “This strategic partnership with Greg, Chas and their experienced team enhances our ability to do so on a global scale.”

Both Cappelli and Edelstein have established distinguished careers in the private education services sector. As co-CEOs of the Apollo Education Group, Cappelli and Edelstein oversaw all operations and were responsible for the company’s strategy aimed at broadening and diversifying operations through innovation and international expansion. While at Apollo they led an initiative to found a billion-dollar joint venture that acquired more than a dozen entities across six continents. They led this effort along with the executive team at Vanta Global, from target identification, acquisition and operational optimization to successful divestiture, creating value for both students and investors. Prior to Apollo, Edelstein and Cappelli founded the Credit Suisse Global Services Group and have been responsible for raising capital and bringing public dozens of companies in the education and business services industries.

“We have known the Vistria team for years and couldn’t be more excited to officially launch this partnership. The Vistria Group shares our passion for this industry and by utilizing both our resources, we can help solve some of the most challenging unmet needs in the labor market today,” said Gregory Cappelli.

“Putting students first has always been at the center of our education philosophy and it aligns directly with The Vistria Group’s impact-focused investment strategy. Our aim is to drive investor returns by supporting innovative models which drive student outcomes by making investments that meet students where they are, improve overall quality of learning and ultimately prepare our next generation workforce,” said Chas Edelstein.

This transaction is from the $2.68 billion Vistria Fund IV, L.P.
