Jon Samuels thrives at the intersection of purpose and profit. He joined the Vistria Group in 2014 leading the innovative firm’s impact and policy strategy for the flagship healthcare, education, and financial services sectors. Today, with over $17bn in AUM, Jon co-heads Vistria’s Portfolio Resources Group, which is focused on driving growth and impact across Vistria’s portfolio.
Prior to Vistria, Jon served for nearly two decades at the highest levels of the U.S. Government, including on President Obama’s senior White House staff and in a range of leadership roles for members of the leadership of the U.S. Congress.
With his experience in public service and private equity, Jon understands the value and opportunity at the intersection of the public and private sectors to scale great businesses, create quality jobs, and generate positive outcomes for communities.
Currently, Jon serves on the board of the Moran Center for Youth Advocacy, as an executive mentor for the MBA Program at Loyola University Chicago’s Baumhart Center for Social Enterprise and Responsibility, on the leadership council of the Kennedy Forum (Illinois), and on the Advisory Board of the Crain’s Forum (Chicago Crain’s).
