Prior to joining Vistria, Montes Piard spent nearly two decades at General Atlantic, a leading global growth equity firm, where he most recently served as Vice President and Global Controller. In this capacity, he oversaw global fund operations, regulatory compliance, and strategic finance initiatives across multiple investment platforms. Montes played a key role in launching the firm’s $2.5B climate fund, developing infrastructure to onboard new products, and leading technology enablement projects, including the implementation of data warehouse and shared services solutions.
Before joining General Atlantic, Montes worked at Chilton Investment Company, managing accounting for distressed opportunity funds, and at GE Capital, where he held roles in both finance and risk, improving risk reporting through Six Sigma initiatives and managing daily accounting for an $800M Canadian portfolio. He began his career at KPMG LLP, auditing financial institutions and private equity funds, and also served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Medical Specialist.
Montes holds an Executive MBA in Finance from Cornell University, an MBA in Finance from the University of Connecticut, and a B.B.A. in Accounting from Berkeley College. He serves on the Board of MEMX, a market exchange for equities and options, and on the Advisory Board of Elevate New York, a nonprofit focused on youth leadership development.
