Prior to joining Vistria, Kate spent the last seven years at the highest levels of Chicago City government, most recently serving as the Director of Communications for Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot. As part of the Mayor’s leadership team, she was responsible for overseeing the communications strategy, crisis and issue management for the day-to-day operations and long-term vision for the Office of the Mayor and more than 40 City departments and sister agencies. Kate oversaw the City’s communication response to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent vaccine rollout, in addition to some of the City’s most historic economic initiatives.
Prior to her roles in the public sector, she served clients across the private sector, including financial firms and Fortune 500 companies, as a consultant on reputation management and executive positioning at MDC Partners and ASGK Partners (now Kivvit).
Kate holds B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University and an M.P.P. from the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy.
